About us
BENCHMARK HOMES became a
homebuilding company in
Wichita
over ten years ago when friends and business associates Craig Hill and Jim
Byrne decided that their individual companies
would be stronger as a
single organization. That’s when Craig’s framing and general contracting
Company merged with Jim’s
trim and finish carpentry business to become BENCHMARK HOMES. The combination
has been a successful merger and blend of talents as Craig oversees the
construction of their homes until the sheetrock is applied, then Jim takes over
and supervises the trim installation and completion of the houses. The partners
believe in making the entire construction stress free for the homeowner,
including the completion of the punch-lists after the
buyer has moved into their
new home. They personally conduct walk through inspections just
prior to closing.

BENCHMARK HOMES builds almost exclusively in the Wichita and
Andover areas. They build both speculative homes which are available for immediate
occupancy, as well as custom
homes where you can pick out your own building lot in the several sub-divisions
where they are building homes, and sit down with the architect or draftsman and
design a home to your particular likes and lifestyle. Once you have selected the
building lot and basic floor plan, the real fun begins as you get to select the
lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, hardware, flooring, cabinets, wood trim, paint
colors, tile, doorbell chimes and a host of other items. Sound overwhelming?
It’s really not when you have an experienced building team headed by Craig and
Jim, as well as their experienced designers, suppliers and subcontractors, providing you with their professional
experience and guidance.
